BAM is a homebrewing club with a membership based in the Northern California East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley area) that was formed in June 1990. Our main goals are to promote homebrewing and brewing better beer and to have fun while doing it. Many of our members are all-grain brewers, but we welcome all brewers wanting to learn.

BAM is proud to be the 2009 California Homebrew Club of the Year
Well this was certainly unexpected, but we did it! Bruce Joseph from Anchor Brewing announced BAM as the winner after the CA State Comp at Stern Grove. This is the first time BAM has won this prestigious award. This isn't a result of any one or few persons, it's because of the members - all of them. Without of all of their passion, dedication and enthusiasm we couldn't have done it.

We'd like to also thank all the people in the community who have sponsored and supported BAM and help make all our efforts possible; Oak Barrel Winecraft, Linden Street Brewery, Ledger's Liquors, Trumer Brauerei and many thanks to Anchor Brewing for this honor.

August 2010 Meeting

The August Meeting will be a joint meeting DOZE and likely some of the Zymergists.  Tentatively planned for a weekend afternoon at a venue mid-way between the clubs, in Vallejo.  Suggested dates Aug 15 and Aug 29.  A poll showed preference evenly divided.  Stay tuned for details.  Invited speakers and other activities are being planned.  Direct questions or suggestions to Jim Files (jimfiles(at)comcast.net) or to Events Coordinator Lee Shepherd (shepardlee(at)gmail.com)

We are going to meet at Linden for the rest of the year, second Thursday each month- social at 7, meeting starts at 7:30. As always, pot luck snacks, be sure to bring a glass and some beer (preferably homebrew) to share.
